Does my business need a website in Spanish?

Short answer

If your customers speak Spanish, yes. Bilingual SEO means a real Spanish version of every page, at its own address, linked to the English one, so Google and AI tools can show each customer the right language. A translate button doesn't give Google a Spanish page to show.

Why it matters

Google reads the words on a page to decide what language it’s in, and matches searches to pages in that language. A customer searching in Spanish can’t be matched to a page you only have in English.

What bilingual SEO looks like

  1. A Spanish page for every English one, with the same services, prices and proof.
  2. Its own address. Google recommends using different URLs for each language version of a page. (Google Search Central) On our sites, the Spanish pages live under /es/.
  3. The two versions linked. Code on each page tells Google which page is the other language, so each searcher gets the right one.
  4. Spanish behind the scenes too. The page titles, descriptions and structured data are in Spanish, not just the words on screen.

What it looks like when it’s done

  • Act Now Pros, a sewer and drain service in Salt Lake City: 11 city pages and 8 service pages, every one in English and Spanish. See them →
  • One Touch Masonry, a mason in Hemet, California: a full Spanish site since October 1, 2026. See it →
  • This page. Read it in Spanish with the button at the top.

Questions

Can't Google translate my site automatically?

A browser can translate a page for a visitor who's already on it. That doesn't give Google a Spanish page to show someone searching in Spanish. Google recommends a separate address for each language version.

Do I need to speak Spanish to have a Spanish website?

No. We write and keep both versions up to date. If customers will call you in Spanish, plan who answers those calls.

Is the Spanish version included?

Yes. The website in our year of SEO & AEO is bilingual: up to five pages, in English and Spanish.
